"Sir, why don't you also teach the afternoon batch?", asked one of the students. Albert smiled and placed the heavy book — from which he was reading — on the desk, firming both his palms on to the old mahogany. "I respect your lot, that's why. You see, the ones who are studying in the regular batch are there because their parents want them there or they are following a tradition. Some of them are just there to give company to others. Whereas you lot! you guys are different. You work during the day and you come here at night to study. You're not here because your parents are forcing you or you want a place to crash or make new friends. You are here because you want to do something meaningful with your education. It's rare in your generation and I respect that." "Professor, you read from that old book of yours but you teach us from the one assigned by the university and we know you hate it. Why not teach us from the one you like?" queried ...

If there had been a contest for the most introverted geek, Amit would have been a strong contender. His innate accuracy at dodging social gathering was something from which we can all take a lesson or two. Perhaps it was an effect of having an overly protective mother. Most of his boyhood was spent indoors. Even after landing a sound job and being bestowed with the employee of the year award two times consecutively, Amit was still sharp at avoiding human interactions. A trait he wasn't particularly proud of. This had to end. Enough was enough. If he wants to get out of his mother's shadow and make a home of his own, he has to interact with the opposite gender and be more confident about it. Fortunately, after some attempts, he scored himself a date. Now that he thinks about it, the attempt was quite fluent. Some may declare him a natural. The girl did show genuine excitement (he concluded that from the 12 online articles he's been binging through) Though he did w...

Late nights in Marseille are usually pretty quiet. Most of the bars get closed by that time. A port of land in the beautiful country of France. Gabriel wanted a drink desperately. Things were not looking good. Though he was sober for one year, tonight, he just wanted to let go of things. loosen up a bit. He needed solitude. He Left late from home and to his surprise, almost all bars were closed. The ones which weren't were filled with loud people and he wasn't looking for high decibels of human chattering. After striving a lot, he gave up on his motive and with low shoulders and a hanging head, proceeded towards his dwelling. On his way, Gabriel came across a poster which read ' nouveau bar en Ville, aidez-nous à grandir '.  A new bar in the city! Maybe since it's new, it won't host many customers , Gabriel guessed with some likelihood. He cursed beneath his breath, ' Maudier ' when he scanned the address. It was at the other end of the por...

I always wanted it. Ever since I saw it, I had this desperate urge to know more about myself. And eventually, my curiosity got the better of me and then the following happened. " Tell me which house do I belong to. " The boy demanded. " But you're a Muggle, how can you belong to any of the magical houses?! " said the hat in a surprisingly curious manner. The boy settles the hat firmly on his head, determined to get an answer. Unlike countless of his friends, He never really desired to be a part of Gryffindor. That was too mainstream, he was never a fan of clichés. He wanted to be in Slytherin. But he unquestionably didn't want the hat to alter its judgment because of his inclination. So he attempted to not think about the house he wanted to be in the most. Immediately dismissing his thoughts, he directed his attention on the moving hat, which gave the impression that it was about to execute a significant statement. " So... let me get this str...

The nameplate read Dr. Kennedy. Mr. Brooks knocked two times — as politely as a gentleman could. " Please come in. " the voice said from inside. " Morning Dr. Kennedy, I'm Joseph Brooks. " said Mr. Brooks while introducing himself. " Welcome Mr. Brooks, pardon me but I don't recall any appointments scheduled for the day. " stated the doctor with slight uncertainty. " And that would be the very reason, doctor, that I'm here today. See, I know it's remarkably challenging to find a vacant slot in your crushing schedule but when I see one, I'm sure to seize it with the first opportunity I get. " Said Mr. Brooks. " I must say you are very well informed Mr. Brooks, but I don't take any patients on my rest day. " asserted the doctor. " Very well then, seems like we're both on the same page, as I have arrived not as a patient — though my wife says I need help — but as a confederate. " said ...

Tama's travelling by the bus had made him forget about the bike he got as a present from his uncle on his last birth anniversary. He enjoys the bus ride since he is accustomed to it. Knowing exactly at which stop most of the passengers would make a run for the exit. Tama gets a seat in no time and without any pause, he opens his school bag and starts reading the book he had issued from the library, last week. Into the last chapter already, a fast reader, paying no attention to the vacant seats or to someone who might acquire them as the bus moves along its path. Surprisingly he never misses his stop. The driver always makes sure that Tama gets down before he moves past Shinkyo(Tama's stop for school). Tama is so much familiar with the crowd that he even bows at them when departing and they return the gesture(Only when they're standing otherwise it's acknowledged with a slight nod and one wide smile). This mundane routine doesn't make Tama feel bored. He e...

CHAPTER 1 - "The things I saw beggar descriptions... The visual evidence and the verbal testimony of starvation, cruelty, and bestiality were so overpowering... I made the visit deliberately, In order to be in a position to give first-hand evidence of these things if ever, in future, there develops a tendency to charge these allegations to propaganda". These words are engraved on the Holocaust memorial museum in Washington DC. The demise WW2 brought on the jew community is unfathomable. Jews were in Europe for the past 2000 years, in every field, from noble prize winners to craftsmen and tradesmen. The "Stab-in-the-back" myth worked as a catalyst in the genocide which followed. Abraham's family were among the few who survived the Holocaust. He was born in the town of Dobiegniew, Poland where most of his people lived. His Father fought hard and ensured his mother, who was 8 months pregnant, along with his aunt escape the camps safely. Abraham's mot...
